Hey it's me again. Well....not that it would be anyone else, hahaha. But anyway, as the title suggests, I was at RockRidge Youth Life retreat this weekend. It was really awesome. The facility is beautiful, right beside a lake, has a basketball court, a street hockey court, a pool, Canada's largest zip line, and beautiful dorm-type rooms. The meals were amazing, and the worship sets were so amazing. I definitly grew in my worship with the other youth then.
I definitly did some learning while I was there, though. I kind of got a little....disgruntled....at some of the messages that were said by a few of the speakers. I had some fun, I went on that previously talked about zip line, which was AWESOME by the way. Tyler gibson, who's a GREAT guy. He's one of my friends here, told me that he was signing us up for the zip line. I was zoned out, so I just said, "Ok, whatever," like a normal guy would say, right? Then I was like....WHAT?!?!? and we talked about it for a few minutes, with him deciding that we were doing it, besides my apprehencions, and I was like...fine.
The funny thing was that once I got there, I was a little afraid....but not very much. It was more of a nervous type of fear. Tyler asked me if I was afraid, and I kind of realized something. I said, "You know what, I've done enough freaky things this year and semester. I mean, I moved 2 provinces away, said goodbye to my church family for a while, said goodbye to my friends, and my family....and am now living in dorms.... why should I be afraid of jumping off of a cliff, with a rope attached to my back? And rather than being totally freaked as I jumped off of the platform, I had SOOOO much fun. I definitly learned something there.
I had great experiences during the worship, though I still miss Court's worship dearly. I'm so excited to come back in winter, just to worship with everyone I know again, haha.
Other than that, not much has happened. I've done a bit of homework, attempted to get used to the idea of doing my own laundry...almost ran out of socks before I remembered to wash them...made some friends...i'm not really looking forward to the week, though. I'd rather just pretend that I'm at a summer camp, and that I don't have to do any work...but that'll end once I go to bed in about an hour. Speaking of sleep, I'm going to watch a BattleStar Galactica before I go to bed, so I should probably sign off and do that now. I'll (most likely) talk to whoever reads this later! Cya!
Matt.
Oh, PS, if anyone were to ever, say, want to send me a form of care package (HAHA, no pressure or anything, it's just in case people were wondering), my mailing address is:
PLBC, c/o my name (aka, Matthew Eisler), 15030-66A Ave., Surrey, BC V3S 2A5 CANADA
also, one last thing. I'd like to thank everyone who's praying for me. This being the first time I'm living out of the province, I'm definitely getting homesick now. But thank you very much.
Cya for real!

Wow Matt...zip line...not in a million years would I do something like that, not even in my younger years BUT I am glad that you overcame your fear and stepped outside of your comfort zone (and perhaps the comfort zone your mom and dad have for you as well) and had an awesome experiece. Pastor Larry did an exercise with us on Sunday regarding our fears. He asked us to write our fears on a piece of paper and then take them to the cross and lay them down. It was wonderful. He also had us write down Scriptures that the Lord had given to us regarding fears and he challenged us to read them often.
Well Matt, keep blogging and I will keep reading and praying. Remember we love you and miss you.
P.S. Another thought, if something you hear 'disgruntles' you, go the the Word and see if it lines up. Remember, the Word is always our plum line.

Hey Matt! Zip lining eh! good job! I would have freaked, screamed blue murder, yelled and possibly not be able to walk when my feet touched the ground!! You're young enough and I am sure there'll be more hairy adventures ahead of you...after all, you ARE at PLBC!
Well, a couple weeks ago, you might have freaked. It was my Week 1 worship team. We practiced Saturday night without the sound system even tho your dad, Shawn and Barry tried their best to set it all up for our first Sunday service at the new church building. Anyway, none of us could hear each other; the platform was really squishy and I was deafened by the drums because I had to stand right in front of it! Well, that night I even got sick and by Sunday I lost my voice totally. So, if you were at the piano (which you would have 'cos you were on my team), YOU would have had to lead my entire set!! LOL Thank God Robin saved the day! It was quite the Week 1 team! Sure missed ya! So now there are plans to do major reno's on the platform so our teams can all fit on the same level.
Keep on keeping on! Have great days. Love your blogs. Thanks for taking time to share the newsy news.
Take care. Hugs. Blessings.
Luisa
